Mug Shot

I may not be a full-on coffee fanatic, but I like to drink coffee sometimes.
In keeping with having the right tool for the job, I have some favorite coffee mugs.
This one came from a second-hand store about 15 or so years ago.
It just struck me as being so oddly humorous.
Although I'm pretty sure it has something to do with welding,
my first impression was of a robot declaring in his metallicly reverbed voice:
"Hobart has the answer".

2011 Harvest Gnar Fest poster

Yup. Costumes mandatory.
It is a costume ball / skateboard contest.
Best trick and best costume.
Even if you don't skate, you are still eligible for best costume...
...just so long as you're wearing one.
See you at the Northwest Washington Fairgrounds on Saturday, October 29.
You may already be a winner!

+81 magazine

I got a 2-page checkout in issue #50 of +81 magazine, out of Japan.
The interview is printed in both English and Japanese.
I worked with an interpreter during the interview, so the original interview is the Japanese part.
Then of course it was translated back into English for print.
Needless to say, my answers are worded a bit different than I remember.
I think the basic thoughts still make it through, even though the wording may not sound like me.
That considered, I think they did a great job!
The photos were taken prior to and during my show at the Volcom store in Tokyo back in October.
The interview was conducted while I was setting up for the show.

Hardly Davidson

That's right, read the letters on the top.
Come out to Bonneville and see what this Honda got.

Fat Boys

I haven't painted in a while so it was fun to get back at it.
Anybody remember the the movie "the Disorderlies"?
Its the Fat Boys. Multi-media on canvas, 24" X 30".

Volcom Creedler font

If you have purchased any of Volcom's Creedlers (sandals/flip-flops) over the past 6 years,
they have been accompanied by a word bubble logo filled with a font I created.
It's just basic all-caps printing I did with a brush-tipped Faber-Castell PITT artist pen.

Floriduh

I love Stance socks so much, I won't even take them off to get in the pool.

Tokyo Show Revisited

Back in October, I accepted an invitation to do a solo art show at the Volcom store in Tokyo.
It was one fun filled week of skating, shopping, and eating, as well as creating.
It was nice to get back and visit one of my favorite places in the world.
Thanks to everybody at Volcom Japan and Volcom USA for making such a fun adventure possible.

For future winters, here's whats GNU!

This is what a super high-tech snowboard from the future looks like.
It's superior construction and unbeatable function are light years ahead of other brands.

This is the Gnu Impossible series snowboard for the 2011/2012 season...
...adorably adorned with a graphic from my face house attic.

Handbuilt in the USA...
...from nature friendly, renewable resources that outperform the
UN-friendly, NON-renewable, wilderness-polluting ingredients
the other snowboard companies use.

Here is a look at it's internal clothing, right through it's transparent skin.
Insects have skeletons on the outside, GNU snowboards have clothes on the inside.
Isn't that just the ant's pants!
